Structural Image Analysis
Borehole Image Logs provide invaluable information for the characterization of a reservoir’s structural inventory. The near-wellbore structure, such as folds or faults, as well as the distribution and properties of fractures and faults, give an insight into the complex deformation geometries that ultimately govern fluid flow. The petrophysical response of fractures is controlled by mud-invasion, which can be used as an estimate for their aperture.
All interpretations are based on careful manual dip picking. No automatic or semi-automatic dip picking is applied, which is particularly important for the identification of fractures and fault rocks. Our structural services are tailored to the costumer’s needs, depending on the degree of complexity you are interested in. Detailed services deliver crucial input for applications such as DFN or geomechanical models as well as geological reservoir models.
